Group known as Red Beans & Rice.
"Go Down, Moses" listed as "Let My People Go".
Recording location and date of "New York City, early 1960" is false. Several musicians (Lagos, Trujillo, and Aplanalp) were based in Los Angeles. 1969 is issue date. Probably recorded in 1968, prior to Paul Lagos joining Kaleidoscope. This session, like Kaleidoscope's third and fourth LPs (1969 and 1970), was produced by Jackie Mills for Wednesday's Child Productions. Down Beat review (January 22, 1971) quotes LP notes as saying Draper formed the band in spring 1968 and liner notes also state that "As this album is released, Red Beans & Rice is stashed away in the hills and/or smog of L.A."
