Entering Issues

To start, select Issues from the Windows menu item to display the Issues window. When the window is first displayed, the fields will be filled in with the first issue record already contained in the database. If there are no issues entered previously, the window will appear with all the fields blank and only the New button active.

Press the New button to enter a new issue. Notice that after pressing the New button, there are checkboxes that appear at the bottom of the window above the button row and the issue format label becomes a popup menu.

In the picture below it is shown that the album title and catalog number is entered. The label name is in the process of being entered. Label is a lookup field so typing the letters "Orig" in the label field cause several selections to appear in the selection list to the right. We will choose the Original Jazz Classics label. Clicking on that selection will complete the label entry.

issues 3

The Artist field is also a lookup field and should be handled just as described for the Label field above. The picture below shows the window as it would be filled and just before it would be saved. Notice the Issue Date field is filled in as January 1, 1991. This is an approximate date because we only know the year the cd was released. Approximation is indicated by clicking the Circa checkbox. The On Hand checkbox is clicked because the cd is in possession of the discographer.

issues 4

The picture below shows the window after the Save button is pressed. Notice the Circa and On Hand checkboxes change to simple text displays. Same for the Format popup menu.

issues 5

Now that the cd is entered in the database, the performances can be added to the cd. Select Tracks from the Windows menu to open the Performances On Issue window.
