Personnel

Fields:

First Name	Enter the first name of the performer.
Last Name	Enter the last name of the performer. When the window is in read mode, the last name behaves as a lookup field.
Skill	Use the popup menu to the right of the field to select a skill for the person. This skill is not used in any reports and has no bearing on the activities of the person. This field is used to qualify duplicate names. The use of this field in no way restricts the usage of the name in the database. For instance, there is a pianist named Billy Taylor and a bass player named Billy Taylor. To distinguish these two duplicate names, p and b (the instrument abbreviations for piano and bass) would be entered in the skill field for these names. On the Add Performers window, the piano designation for Billy Tayor would not prevent him from being entered as organ, celeste, leader, or anything else on a particular performance.

Buttons:

Prev	Use this button to navigate to the previous name in the personnel table.
Next	Use this button to navigate to the next name in the personnel table.
New Artist	Use this button to put the window into a mode that will allow adding a new name. When this button is pressed, all fields will be blanked, and the Edit and Delete buttons will be changed to Save and Cancel respectively. Once the fields are entered, pressing the Save button will commit the new name to the database. Pressing Cancel will revert the window back to the state it had before New was pressed. No changes will be saved.
Edit Artist	Use this button to put the window into a mode that will allow modifying a name. When this button is pressed the Edit and Delete buttons will be changed to Save and Cancel respectively. Once the fields are modified, pressing the Save button will commit the changes to the database. Pressing Cancel will revert the window back to the state it had before Edit was pressed. No changes will be saved. Duplicate names can be entered for the Personnel screen but they must be qualified with the Skill field.
Delete Artist	Pressing this button will remove the name from the database. This action is unrecoverable.
Lists	This button is a drop-down menu that has four options for lists. All personnel in the database. All issues where the performer appears. All issues where the performer is the leader. All performances where the performer appears.
